Well covid has finally got me!! After getting away with it at Xmas when the rest of the family had it, my partner and daughter tested positive this Sunday!! I thought I'd somehow dodged again but had a big positive this morning, but started coughing a few days ago!! 😩
Now a bit achy and bunged up, coughing quite a lot, and superbly cause it was a LFT test, I had to ring 119 and at 0745 they wasn't taken anymore calls that day
Could t make it up, never been simple!! 😂
Spoke to 111 and doc called be straight back and now waiting for another call about antivirals etc! So I'll keep you posted?! ☺️

So that's now over 32 hrs since I spoke to a doctor about antivirals and still waiting for a call! Luckily I do feel poorly but not too bad, I am getting worse and the cough especially, I'm just frustrated at the lack of information as I could be really sick now and have no number to call or anything so I'm stuck in limbo! Fingers crossed it is soon? 🤞🏻
I’d call 111 back and ask them to chase the referral. When I tested positive a couple of weeks ago it all happened very smoothly. I called 111 on Saturday evening and had a call back within 20 minutes. They confirmed I was eligible for antivirals as I’m on Rituximab and a referral was made to my local CMDU (Covid Medicine Delivery Unit). The CMDU called me back Sunday Morning and the antivirals were ready for my husband to collect that afternoon.
I've called the ward myself after sending them emails hourly and no response, and luckily got one of 2 remaining appointments for tomorrow!! Without that it would be Monday and not in the 5 day window which if I'm honest has really peed me off!!
You could not make this up! A nurse friend told me only one person out of 1867 last week was offered antivirals in our area! Hope you get better soon 🔜
Had my antivirals IV at 8am this morn, was done in half hr then 45 min wait for any sides! My bloody pressure dropped alot which gave them a scare but I think it's more to do with the fact I'm needle phobic, rather than the meds, as I always get light headed with a canula sticking from me!! Feel okay now though, I'm no worse at all which is good, let's see what tomorrow brings! They are only doing 16 a day as only have 2 beds, but they did say covid is rife again, they still have a few in wards with delta varient who are quite poorly!! Let's hope with warmer weather brings a drop in cases, if I have the mild one instill don't want it again!! Thanks for asking 😊
