I've had shingles 9 times in 3 years and I'm 41. I've had multiple tests and showing nothing. Has anyone else had them this many times?

I have never had them, which is no answer to your question but just wanted to say - ouch!! That’s awful, I know it can be so so painful! I hope the 9th time was the last!! 😬

Hi Cookie300,Poor you - that must be awful. Have you looked into having the shingrix vaccine? I understand it confers a high level of protection and, according to something I was reading on here just yesterday, is (from last September) available on the NHS for immune compromised people. Might be worth looking into? (If you put “shingrix” into the search on here you can read about it). I’ve been trying to get it myself for two years but I live in Guernsey where there is no NHS and no shingrix currently…)

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I've had Shingles once (while on holiday on Corfu-that's another story)🤦‍♀️ it was bad, so I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling. Sorry I can't be of any help, please keep us updated. Sending best wishes. 🌺

With that many attacks I would want to discuss being on a long term course of antiviral for say six months. Then having the vaccine once no attacks for that period.

You can have it as young as 19 if you are immunocompromised here in the U.S.

Have you only been treated by your GP?If so I would definitely ask to be referred to a consultant dermatologist …they have been known to help with the shingles …. .. and for once I’d have a look on Dr Google and see who it is recommend you ask to see.
