May help or may hinder .. article below. T cells can be quite confusing to understand. It’s taking me a lot of time to do so in preparation for a new med. Hope you’re soon feeling back on track. 💗
Trust our luck, on top of being immunosupprssed, which as we know can reduce antibody response to the vaccines, we are taking a drug that also flattens our T-Cells and further reduces whatever protection we would have had from these vaccines. It doesn't take rocket science to work out that can only be a bad thing
I recently, and rather reluctantly, increased my baricitinib from 2mg daily to 4 and 2mg on alternate days, which has helped my RA a bit. I don't know if it will make any difference but I'm seriously thinking of going back to 2mg daily and bugger the increased pain until this omicron surge subsides. Think a phonecall to rheumy is on the cards.
This, on top of what's gone on for over almost 2 years of this pandemic is beginning to tell on me mentally. Plus I've got bloody tootache!
Oh no not toothache too! I had the dilemma of trying to decide whether or not to visit relatives when the decision was taken away from me as I caught Covid on 22nd the Christmas gift that keeps on giving!Try to get to a dentist soon my friend.
Just like a really heavy head cold two day headache, drippy nose, sneezing and a cough. LFT came up in 90 seconds positive.
Sent for PCR which I returned at 4pm had results by 9.00 am positive. Amazing turn around. Had text to say to isolate followed by phonecall.
Thank goodness for three jabs I have had a better time than I thought. Just told by rheummy to take paracetamols every four hours to lower temperature which was fine by day three.
So thank goodness for modern medicine and those clever bods who came up with jabs.
Glad you got a tooth appointment- oil of cloves on a cotton wool pad helps with pain and my dentist always says to use Corsodyl mouthwash to stop infections while you wait for an appointment. Also lukewarm salty water eases pain too or a New Year scotch!
Hope I'm as fortunate when, not if, I get it. Sorry for being so negative but I struggle to find much to celebrate about the new year. If my lungs were in decent nick then I'd be a lot less concerned and probably raise a glass or two...or three. Just have to keep my fingers crossed that I have a mild bout of covid like you.
Thanks for the toothache tips. I mentioned trying oil of cloves to my wife the other day. She can pick some up the next time she goes to the chemist, plus some corsodyl. Think I need to try something as even with the high doses of pain relief I already take for my RA...this tooth, or possibly two tooths is giving me a fair amount of gip. Still, I only need put up with it for another 11 days then at least one of the offending teef will be yanked out......................
Anyway, that's more than enough woes.for new years eve.
All you want for Christmas is your two front teeth. Corsodyl 0.2 chlorhexidine digluconate the red one is the best according to my dentist for pain. Good luck 🤞🏻
Will do, thanks. Oh as far as wanting two front teeth for christmas goes!...one will do fine as I had the other one taken out a couple of years ago and haven't bothered with a false one. So I look a bit gappy when I smile, which ain't often anyway. ...
Afraid I'll have to pass on any smiley new years resolutions until this blinkin' tooth or teeth are removed. There's something to be said about ye olde days when you could have a toothache ridden sleepless night and providing you got to your local dentist by 8.30am he would take the tooth out there and then!
I hope you are feeling a lot better, a happy healthy new year to you, yes all these T and B cells are confusing, just hoping the vaccines work with retuximab too.
Thank you so much for your good wishes. I wish the same to you. We are so blessed to have this site where we can share our problems. I hope 2022 brings much better health to you and to all on here. x
