Sulfasalazine: Just started Sulfasalazine. I have pain... - NRAS
Sulfasalazine
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your back and legs but you need to work out why - it's not likely to be due to the medication. Back pain is, of course, very common, and often gives rise to pressure on the nerves which supply the legs, for example sciatica.
Thanks for the response. Seems a coincidence that after taking Sulfasalasine for one week I have pain, which is listed as a side effect. The recommended solution is to take painkillers. Not taken Sulfasalazine since yesterday and feeling much better. I believe Sciatica is a sharp pain. What I am suffering from is more an ache and discomfort which leads to loss of sleep.
Worth calling your RA team to see if they can work thro the issues for you. I got awfu headaches with that drug and the team discussed options with me.
Hi nethyman1 sorry late reply, I was on sulfazalzine for at least 10 years, I'm not familiar with any pain from taking the medication, but certainly call Rhum clinic, yes mentions side effects pain , but to be on the safe side, get checked ✔ sometimes blood clots are a dull ache, under no circumstances am I saying that you have, its best to seek advice from the professionals. Hope this helps good luck 👍
Hi your very welcome 😊 I'm on a new medication after 20 years of trying, sulfa methotrexate etc, it's called RINVOQ 15MG UPADACITINIB 1 DAILY so after 11 months of been off medication 💊 hoping this works, only been taking it for 2 weeks 😊
