Does anyone use a mobility aid ? had a telephone consultation with a physio who discussed me possibly having to use one at times I can find it difficult to walk or walk with a prominent limp

If you use one how do you find it ? is it a permanent support?

I work in a volatile area so if I do use one I fear I would not be allowed to stay in the same job and this would have implications

This must be hard for you.If you cant use it work,do you think you could manage using it outside work??

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question.

It’s just that as you say.it would have implications for your job.

I have a trendy looking Leki hiking stick for balance and light support. It’s not a pointed hill walking pole.) Have a look at the Leki Microcity stick which folds down so you can put it in a shoulder bag/backpack of you need some discretion and don’t want to be seen to be using it at times. It’s sturdy and looks good and definitely not a crutch.

I Just thought it may be an option. As you’re young and work a volatile area a walking aid won’t be an option. Before I retired,I worked in a volatile area.where anything could happen and regularly did.

I struggled for tears with back issues and recurring sciatica.

Eventually I found a sports physio,I go monthly, she keeps me functioning.

,take care

I use an ergonomic right handed walking stick, so much more comfortable than the one the hospital gave me.

I have an ergonomic walking stick. Very supportive as the handle allows you to be fully weight baring on the heel of your hand it’s easy to hold too especially if you have difficulty’s with your grip and fingers as I do. Have a left handed one too just in case. I also have a mobility scooter as I don’t drive and it gets me out and about locally when my husband is at work bought it second hand from eBay and it works well although I don’t use it too much.

Hey, my mother met with an accident few months back. She is also facing some difficulties to walk without support. So, her GP suggested to get her pair of crutches. She is not currently working so i'm not sure if the crutches are comfortable to work with or not but if you want to try below I'm sharing a link for help.
