Tingling, hot feet

I’ve developed numb, tingling hot feet - is this a common feature of RA ( 5years since diagnosis) This is also coinciding with relapse of SIBO symptoms. How do others deal with these foot symptoms - it’s disturbing. Regular RA review clinic (in London) are not happening.

Hello Diana, I have numb, tingling, painful feet too. I have just seen my GP who has referred me to a neurologist, I am also having blood tests done, apparently it could be due to vit. B12 deficiency. I’m taking Methotrexate and Prednisolone which could also be responsible for the symptoms. I’ve just looked up SIBO and I’m wondering if it could be that it’s causing your B12 levels to be depleted. It’s just a thought, I’m only just beginning to find out as much as I can about my symptoms. There is a lot of info. on the forums about tingling feet. 🙂

Soaking my feet in Epsom salts gives temporary relief. I think my GP mentioned the possibility of compression stockings too. 🙂

Thank you for your reply. B12 is likely part of the issue -looking into it.

I too get this and was diagnosed 5 years ago . I’m glad someone listened to you . My doctors just dismissed my feet. A private podiatrist found nerve issues. I was eventually sent for nerve tests which has been confirmed as nerve damage just waiting for an appointment with rheumatologist to see what happens now.

I hope you don’t have a long wait for your appointment with the rheumatologist J1707. 🙂

A likely change or increase of medication then? I’ve wavered off my usual non gluten, limited sugar and dairy free diet. Thanks

Morning and i feel for you darling. My feet feel funny if that sounds right. My skin feels funny too. I do get tingling in my toes. I had some of them straightened about three years ago, but they have bent over again. so the surgery was a waste of time . xxxx

I don't know why they say that erythromyalgia is 'rare' , it seems very common in people with Rheumatoid Disease!

I have this and I don't have RA, I'm on methotrexate for my autoimmune disease 😳

Hi, yes I've had tingling (no heat) feeling in all my toes for years, I have bought it up with my rheumatologist a few times but she didn't really know. I have been to a podiatrist for other reasons and did mention it to her, she passed me on to a specialist who wasn't sure either. So, I have been putting it down to side effects of methotrexate!! I must admit,it doesn't really bother me unless I notice it, which is usually when I'm swimming! Would love to know more about it though.
