Does anyone know of a product to put on the injection site if you’re self injecting enbrel and it reacts?

I’d show it to your rheumy/GP as they are the best ones to advise you. Your pharmacist might be able to help if you can’t get it seen by the others.

I take an antihistamine tablet. Definitely get advice from your rheumatology team.

I would ask your rheumy nurse and also they need to be aware if it is happening/if it’s troublesome. Mine was and lasted all week and only just faded when the next Enbrel was due. I think it was a steroid cream they gave me but sadly didn’t work. Hope yours calms down.

Thanks. My daughter just started on Enbrel and the site is sore. I gave up Enbrel some years ago for that reason so I’m hoping there’s a cure these days. It worked otherwise but the soreness became unbearable for me.

Mine was the size of a saucer .. red hot, itchy and risen up. 😑 It happened second time and then for the next four. Enbrel worked like magic after two hours of the first injection but faded fast after a month. I was advised to stop it so did. Hope your daughter can get round the site soreness and the rheumy can help.

Thank you. So do I. I’m now on an infusion, which works brilliantly for at least 9 months at a time but that was a big step for me. If Enbrel works for her it’ll be great. I hope you’ve found a better drug now?

Well I had .. an infusion which has been excellent in terms of mobility and no RA disease activity and excellent in terms of no inflammation, but other side effects mean I need to change med later in the year. Glad to hear you have found something that works for you. I had Humira after Enbrel but that did nothing at all for 4 months.

I used to inject in my leg or my tummy. When I had a red whelp for nearly a week each time I stopped and changed to a different drug.

Just another thought do you use the wipe? I had a reaction to that which stopped when I didn’t use the wipe.
