Unfortunately there is no cure for arthritis, but many can respond really well to treatment and you can continue to live a normal life.
There are lots of different types snd different treatment so I really recommend you look at this website which is specially for young people who have juvenile arthritis,
She may find the steroid injection works like magic - hop3 so
Thanks so much helixhelix, the thing is that she took this injuction on her both knes befor 5 months and now on her left kne and left hand elbow, wondering is it going to keep this ways steroid every 5 or 6 months!!!!!????
Talk to her doctors about whether it could be better to try a “disease modifying drug” that acts longer term. At her age maybe they are hoping that the disease will calm down naturally, but if this doesn’t seem to be happening ask about alternatives. At her age doctors will be very cautious about putting her on long term treatment, but certainly should discuss it with you.
I really talked to her Dr. her dr.said it is very difficult to decide the right midication in this age first treatment was methotrexate injuction ,but she could no tolerate it so she decided another treatment which is amgavita injuction ,but still her inflamation increasing this is the second time she give her steroid injuction within 5weeks.
Wishing your daughter all the best. There are some effective treatments - sometimes you have to be quite vocal with doctors, though.
As helix said, have a look at that JIA website. And hopefully the injections will provide some relief.
Your daughter might feel a little unwell after the steroid injections - maybe pale and then red in the face and sometimes a little woozy. Just make sure she takes it easy for the next 24 hours and is given lots of love ❤️ xx
I'm sorry to hear about your daughter, hopefully the steroid injections give her relief.Unfortunately there is no permanent cure /treatment, but there are lots of new medications available that can help provide a good quality of life. Best wishes to you all.
My doctor told me that juvenile arthritis often just goes away. I found this on the internet to confirm this. "JIA is a chronic condition, meaning it can last for months and years. Sometimes the symptoms just go away with treatment, which is known as remission. Remission may last for months, years, or a person's lifetime. In fact, many teens with JIA eventually enter full remission with little or no permanent joint damage." Take care.
I was dx. age 6, in 1971, and was put on steroid injections 3 times a week - A.C.T.H. This treatment was given IM by a district nurse who drove me to school afterwards and it went on until I was 11 and went to secondary school. Probably discontinued this treatment today, but there are lots of new options available.
Prayers for your daughter .plz go for alternative treatment too but after discussion with the doctor
