Has anybody got any advice for an abcess? I had a THR 8 years ago and developed a red swelling right at the bottom of my scar. It grew and eventually burst and after 15 weeks of daily dressings (been packed the past 3 weeks) I’ve now been referred back to my orthopaedic team. I’m wondering if abscesses are common with RD and the treatments?

I have no idea, but I have just gone through a year of repeated boils, carbuncles and abscess breakouts, it turns out it is due to very low immunity which can happen when being treated with immunosuppressants.
So sorry this has happened as wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy as they are so horrible and hurt like
