R.A and Astra-zeneka vaccine

I'm feeling a bit of an odd ball. I'm on Hydroxychloroquine pills for my R.A and its managing it well. I still get problems in my hands but not enough to stop normal living (whatever that is). I had the Astra-zeneka jab 2 weeks ago. Felt rough for 4 days, but since then absolutely no R.A symptoms what so ever. Inflammation in knuckles has gone, no pain anywhere....I wake up every morning expecting the feeling of broken fingers - like i have done everyday since June 2019- but nothing ! not a murmur. I've been working as normal (carpenter,/joiner) and its the best I've felt in 2 years. For some reason everything has subsided. Coincidence - maybe, but so far, so good. Anyone else had this ?

Great news .. who knows with RA but enjoy the freedom

I think that some people find that their RA improves when they catch a bug so maybe this is a similar thing; immune system is busy dealing with the jab so eases up on your joints. As J1707 says - enjoy! 😉

That is great news for you and hopefully that continues to be the case.

Everyone's reactions to the vaccination and to their RA meds can vary considerably. I would urge as many of you as possible to take part in a Global piece of research looking at people living with Rheumatic diseases and their reaction to the vaccines. It will be by gathering real world data that you can all help with that the scientists will find the answers to many of these questions. The COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance (GRA) is truly grateful to many of you who have already supported in helping them learn about how COVID-19 affects people with rheumatic diseases over the past year.

As you know, the COVID-19 vaccine deployment has begun and offers hope for us to emerge from the pandemic. However, people with rheumatic diseases around the world have unique issues to consider related to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. As more people with rheumatic diseases are getting vaccinated, their early experience is important to report. Therefore, the GRA has developed a new survey to learn about their perspectives and experiences related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Who can take the COVID-19 Vaccine Survey?

Eligibility criteria:

Adult (ages 18 and older)

Diagnosis of a rheumatic disease

NOTE: People can participate regardless of whether or not they have had COVID-19 infection or received a COVID-19 vaccine.
