To call or not to call?

Good Morning all,

I hope everyone is safe and well. As always I’m searching for a bit of advice, I’ve woken up this morning with a swollen left knee with some redness and a touch of warmth but with the oddest tingling sensation.

Now, swelling I’m used to, not so much this specific knee but in general but not sure whether I should call my rheumy team as never really had redness/warmth etc in my joints. Don’t want to make a fuss or spend anymore time at hospital than necessary at the moment.

I’ve put a picture up - sorry it’s so vile, I’m super embarrassed but would be so grateful for your advice.

How about you calling your GP first as you might get a faster response then RA clinic? I get that type of knee with my OA and that comes under my GP rather then the RA clinic. However always worth keeping them informed too. Elevate and ice pack it (peas)

😊 not vile don’t worry. Me ... I’d send the picture through to rheumy/rheumy nurse. Easier than going to hospital and probably more than good enough for them to help you and decide what action is needed. 🍀

Contact your team send a photo.. often when I get swelling I get tingling. I’m told it’s compression of the nerves and blood vessels caused by the swelling.. all problems should be reported to your team . In these conditions mine normally get my gp to check it.

Call your gp, mine was very good with my bad knee
