Gaba gaba doo-doo

I also had problems with Gabapentin. I had been taking 300mg twice a day for about 8 months. When I first noticed pain in my hands, I thought it was my age; I'm 68. I noticed increased pain as the months went by, still chalking it up to my age. I would wake up in the mornings and my hands would be in a fist-like position. It took hours to unclench them. I ended up wearing stiff construction gloves to bed. It would cause great pain to remove the gloves. If I even brushed up against something , I would experience excruciating pain in my hands. Months later I came down with a bad case of gastroenteritis. I was in bed for 10 days. I once ended up in the hospital with a really bad case of it. While I was sick in bed, I was going at both ends, so I stopped taking Gabapentin completely. I knew I was not supposed to just cold-turkey but I did. The positive effects were almost immediate. Within days, I stopped wearing gloves to bed, my fists unclenched and the extreme pain upon touching anything went away. Now, 6 weeks later, I feel better than I have in months. Gaba gaba doo-doo is what I think of this drug.

Hiya o'brien, welcome to the site. I’m guessing now you realise you didn’t need to start a new post to reply to someone else’s? If you wish to you can delete the two you’ve started just by yourself. It could be you'll receive replies on both otherwise. At the opposite end to Reply underneath your post just tap More & select Delete. I hope you find it helpful being here. Even though gabapentin wasn't for you I do hope your RD is well controlled.

Just another thing, the post you replied to is 3 years old (you'll find the age beside the username). Unfortunately this member hasn't been active on the site since then so may well not see your reply. I didn’t want you to think you were being ignored.
