Redundancy

I have just been told I will be losing 30 percent off my working hours! I am going to take v redundancy. I am putting an application in on Monday. It's a shock as didn't think I would be leaving so soon. I will be 60 in December! My firm is going to reduce our contract hours and working only a few day and more that have to go to other sites. I am not doing that! Just wanted to get this rant off my chest. Take care everyone x

I can understand how frustrating this is . But this is a golden opportunity to re evaluate where and what you want to do . Sometimes its better to be the one who walks away and accept the redundancy , this will free you for interviews and allow you to collect your thoughts . I wish you well and every happiness in whatever venture you undertake 🍂

There's times when it never rains but it pours and my heart goes out to you. I think you are very much allowed to rant away and send some supportive wishes to you. Hope that taking voluntary redundancy may open up new opportunities for you to explore. Keep strong x

Hi Carol. I'm sorry to hear this, it seems to be one thing after another for you lately, but you know what they say, as one door closes another one opens - I hope it will be so for you. 🤞 Take care. xx

We are going through the process where I work too and it is happening in so many places and fields of work.

Sorry you’ve got this to contend with 😑🤨but as others have said .. one door closes and another opens and I am a great believer in that, and you could find you now do something you’ve always longed to but never dared take the plunge so to speak! Wishing you lots of luck. x

🥺you really are having a tough time. I think redundancy is the right option in these difficult times. No pressures and when or if your ready you can do something that’s a bit easier on the old RA. X
