Has anyone been on arava I've started last week just wondering of the side effects

Hi. I’ve been on Arvara ( leflunomide) for a few years. No side effects that I’m aware of and has been beneficial.

I take it with a biologic and methotrexate - although I have now stopped the methotrexate.

I was put on Leflunomide 1st Jan this year. I have developed a very sore throat and diarrhea over the months I have used it, although it stopped the pains I was having straight away - it is supposed to build up in body over time.

Because of the side effects and that fact that I was put on antibiotics by GP, I have now come off it and still waiting to discuss with consultant whether to continue - very difficult with Covid 19 still gripping the health service.

I've been on it for bout 3 years.Doing great no side effects.I was on MTX FOR 24 YEARS..Stared having problems had to stop.

I loved it but it doesn't work quickly and hurt for a couple of weeks too, then the tray sky became pink and all pain was gone. No further side effects but make sure you get the blood tests.

Hi there

I was on Arava for approx 1 year.

My blood pressure was super elevated and it took awhile to figure it out with the process of elimination with cholesterol medication to make sure it was the Arava. Sadly it was my body’s reacting to Arava with high blood pressure symptoms. I say sadly as it helped me lose weight so I was super happy with that side effect as I have gained weight from several other biologics and Dmards.

I am now on a drug called Rinvoq. It’s the last drug I can try as I have been on them all in the last 11 years . So far so good. I wish you the best on your journey with these drugs. It’s trial and error and hopefully you get one that wields results. Cheers
