Lovely, lovely chat with RA nurse yesterday. It appears that I am a 'treatment failure' - joints reverting to how they were pre-treatment, but most significantly loosing several days after injecting MTX. So what next!!Leflunomide was mentioned (sorry but a no go, I am not a teetotaller but happily keep to my 14 units with lovely red wine 4 days a week, my one weakness -huh hum!). Biologics also mentioned and I have deferred making a decision about changing meds, with the proviso that, I might be begging them after I inject tonight. I have left my options open.
In essence, I was wondering if any of you had made a significant change in meds during the pandemic. If so would you be happy to share rationale /experience.
I am in two minds as upon reflection, this might be the quiet before another potential storm - whilst lockdown continues in some form and people remain essentially cautious. I am also lucky in that I live in an area with relatively low Covid 19 incidence. Therefore, changing meds now might be safer, than in say a few months, or indeed heading into winter with Covid 19 and the flu. Paralysis by analysis I know. So thoughts, experiences welcome please.

I’m with you with the red wine! I’ve just made my blood test appointment for this week rather than next as I think it’s better to go in a strict lockdown rather than when everyone decides how to interpret it for themselves. At least we know where we are at the moment and I won’t be coming out of lockdown anytime soon. If we get a second wave it could be worse than the first.
Ah. A fellow red wine lover. Yes, I am beginning to lean that way in my thinking. It's amazing how quickly I forget how much I struggle during parts of the week. When MTX wearing off, joints hurt more but fatique lifts. Will inject tonight and then decide by the end of the week the way forward - well, saying that it will all be dependent on the Consultant. Thank you for your response - I wonder by the silence on this post, at the moment, whether people have been avoiding med changes - very understandably.
It was my father's and one he used throughout my life to try and steer me away from over thinking. Funnily enough, I usually just end up going in a circular thought pattern. Still, at least it means I've covered all bases - well that's the idea, I think!!
