Baricitinib side effects

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here for quite a while. I have been taking Baricitinib since Jan this year and I have been experiencing a kind of rigidity and slowness to my body since taking this drug. I have never experienced this on any other medication I have had for RA. In fact I don't like this drug at all, I don't think it's doing what it should be doing. My rheumatologist says to keep going until such a time, when all this madness is over, and I can see him in clinic. I just wondered if anyone else has/is experiencing this and does it pass over time?

Thanks

My OH has been taking it for about 18 months. He hasn't had any similar symptoms. I hope you find a satisfactory way forward.

Indeed. Especially as nobody quite knows when the madness will be over. 🙄

I have been on & off this since February with mixed results, at first I had more energy & trouble sleeping, then I had brain fog & felt poorly especially when first waking up usually in the middle of the night. I then seemed to be going crazy & had feelings of depression. I have decided to take a break & one week in my brain feels more like my old self. Side effects have been a problem since I started out on mtx in 2002 & every other treatment since has side effects. Keep battling & don’t let RA win !

Hi, thank you for replying . I was so relieved to read your post. I too have also been experiencing brain fog as well the uncomfortable feeling in my body. I was beginning to think that something else was going on as my head just didn't/doesn't feel right, as though I can't comprehend things, and yes, feeling really low. I am gradually weaning myself off the baracitinib and am pleased to hear that you're feeling more like your old self. This gives me hope too. I'm just concerned about aches and pains until I start a different treatment. It is something I have to expect and go through in order to get off the baracitinib and start a new treatment.
