I had SLAC surgery in May of 19. The second row of bones were to slide down into wrist area the center bone cracked and flared up. Had second opinion on the plate Fusion to hold wrist and he said I need the surgery.

Going in to doctors tomorrow to discuss the surgery in March Not looking forward to it but I have no choice

Hand 3 knuckles on rt hand replaced and tendon on middle finger realigned. Knuckles a success but middle finger drifting to right again. Can use my hand but after breakingmy wrist last year the strength has gone.

Very soon after my RD symptoms started my left thumb kept subluxating. After many appointments, scans etc I was offered ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition surgery, not being too well I postponed.

Methotrexate really helped reduce the inflammation and stabilise the joint, and I wore a thumb brace for nearly one year. Although not perfect, biologics and now Baricitinib seem to be keeping the joint in an ok position, possibly due to my hand tendons being not so inflammed.

So, I think I made the correct decision and can always request surgery should the situation deteriorate.

My problem is I cannot make a fist. Nothing else. Does anyone know if there is anything to be done surgerywise?

It would depend on what is the reason for not being able to make a fist. Have you seen your rheumy about it?

The tendons will not bend, in all fingers, only half ways.
