Never ends

Hi,RA has been living with me 18years now.At first I was on a trial.My Rheumatologist started me on Prednesone(and other meds) yrs later with intense pain and swelling in wrists,he changed meds to methodrexate.1yr later my hair is thinning.Does anyone know of any over the counter product available to stop from losing more hair than already lost?

Folic acid - you should be taking some at least. Either once a week or once a day except MTX day. I take 5mg twice a week other take 5mg six times a week.

Thank you for advice on folic acid.I am taking it the day after MTX once a week by my Rheumy,but, I will bring it up to him on my next visit.Once again thank you.Best regards

Hi Crystal,

Sorry my reply was short I was heading out to work! I am surprised that you take your 1 folic acid the day after your MTX. When I had 1 it was 3 days after and now it is 3 days and 5 days after the MTX day. So that may also be worth checking. So for me MTX is on Friday and folic acid on Monday and Wednesday. I hope that info may help.

I found one side of my hair was thinner than the other about 12-18 months after I started methotrexate. I take a high dose biotin vitamin hair a little thinner still but that could also be the menopause but it has improved a lot

Ive been on mtrx for 5yrs about and just his last couple of weeks Ive noticed my hair is getting thinner so I would like to know of anything I can use to stop this happening as well x
