I have been to the doctors multiple times over the past year if not more due to an extremely bad knee pain I am experiencing a few months ago he said it was a pulled ligament but it would grow out in a couple of week then which I told him I had had it for months so he sent me for an MRI on it but when I got the results it came back clear and I am still in a lot of pain
what will a physiotherapist do for me ? And would I actually get an answer to why it feels like this ? And will I have to have surgery or crutches?

I’d go and see the physio if that’s what is being offered and hopefully they can give you some answers and help you. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Hi Welsh4002 - the other professional to think about seeing is a Podiatrist. Knee pain can occur due to problems with how you walk, cheers Deb
Just what I was going to say. My knee problems were due a problem with my foot. I have had orthoses fitted but am waiting for custom made ones from a specialist podiatrist.
It may be worth researching the local provision. Someone who deals with runners can be a good option.
Physiotherapists can help with muscular problems, initially I saw one who gave me exercises and released tight muscles by massage. This did help me a lot but was not the full answer in my case.
I had a similar story - although my knee was very swollen, not sure if yours is swollen too...
My advice would be to see your rheumatologist straight away if you have RD and make sure she'll have access to your MRI.
No point in wasting time with other GPs, physios etc until you've ruled out rheumatoid involvement.
I saw GPs, physios, and even a private orthopaedic surgeon (as I thought I'd torn my cartilage). The one person I didn't see was my rheumatologist.
Mine was sorted out immediately but appreciate yours might be entirely different, and not RD at all. Main thing though, if you have RD, is to rule that out first, and that means a rheumatologist, not a physio...
