Iv been taken off my new medication for now because they were interfering with my diabetes making my blood sugar go dangerously low so now I’m only taking pain killers and my arthritis is flaring up every joint I’m really in a bad way at the moment in pain and can’t do anything or sleep at night 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hi Beth.

Sorry to hear you're suffering so badly. Have you let your Rheumatology consultant know how bad it is? Are you on any type of steroid or have you been taken off that too? I really think you should hassle him/her for some help/medication asap.

No I’m not on anything at the moment only pain killers I keep phoning my rheumatoid nurse up no answer leave a message and they never phone back had enough of pain 😭😭

Hi Beth. Sorry you are feeling so bad at present. I have type 1 diabetes too. I'm interested to know which drug makes your glucose levels low. I have been prescribed Prednisone in the past which raises my blood sugar so I increase my insulin dose to compensate. However the Prednisone does reduce the inflammation significantly. So maybe you could get some via your GP whilst you are trying to get in touch with your nurse. It's not ideal but you need something and at least you can give yourself more insulin to compensate. Baricitinip one tablet a day I was talking just waiting now for my arthritis consultant to talk to my diabetic consultant then I hope I can start on them again at the moment I’m in pain and swollen I’m only on solpadol pain killers and can’t sleep at night due to bad pain 🤔🤔
