Not something I’ve come across before. It could be cellulitis but I would think it would be more painful.

nhs.uk/conditions/cellulitis/

It might be worth getting it checked by the doctor to be sure.

Hi nellysgran ,I know it’s a Saturday but do you have a walk in clinic near you or is your GP open on a Saturday?

A red limb could be a DVT.

I would not rub it and keep as still as possible, you could phone 111 or go to 111nhs.co.uk

This could be a sign or symptom of many medical issues so important to get it checked ASAP.

Why do these things always happen on a weekend.

Good luck and best wishes.

Draw round the redness to keep a eye on the spread . Elevate your legs . Go to walk in centre if you have any flu like symptoms as it as someone already has said be cellulitis you may have been bitten but whatever you do do not ignore it 🌷
