Sulfasalazine & constipation

Have just been started on Sulfasalazine 3 weeks ago, alongside Methotrexate 20mg injection. However my bowels haven't moved in the past 5 days, have taken senokot with no joy anyone any experiences with this drug and this side effect?

Hi, I take sulfasalazine 3 twice daily and 20mg methotrexate injections and have never been constipated with them,but I suppose everyone is different.hope you get relief soon.

I take sulfa and mtx injections and have constipation regulary. My doc has gave me laxido and it works sometimes therefore I have started to change my diet and eating more greens and it does help. I have noticed Im regular for a few days then it stops so thats my que to take something. Keep active if you can and plenty of water and senna is a good natural form for this but if you havnt had no joy after 5 days I would call your GP to get something a bit stronger.
