Update to rh extensor muscles ( about a year ago )

About a year ago my rh extensor muscles became immobile, this this is a final update on my condition. I've previously posted about the progress and now a year on its finally ok. I still get some muscle twinges when I extend the fingers, but every thing is working. One thing that has helped me a lot is a change to my medication. Now I take :

Hydroxychloroquine ( zentiva ) 400 mg daily

Prednisolone 5 mg daily

Omeprazole 20 mg daily

Methotrexate 20mg weekly

Folic acid 10mg weekly

The main change is methotrexate, which I started about 8 months ago, definitely helped with the RA symptoms. I can now walk reasonable distances and work reasonably well ( gardening diy ), but need to be careful not to overdo it. I don't know why my RA specialist didn't put me on them sooner?

Thanks

I was diagnosed a year ago and my rheumatologist put me on same amount of Methotrexate and folic acid immediately w/success. Be sure to get liver function checked every 3 months via blood draw. These are only 2 meds I take, but I adjusted my diet (vegetarian-pescatarian when diagnosed) by going totally organic, decreased gluten by 50%, and no alcohol, sugars, processed foods. I also exercise quite a bit which helps w/flexibility: yoga, Jazzercise and walking. I also added these supplements: turmeric, D3, krill oil and magnesium.

Thanks for the concern. My doc arranged blood tests every month, and I seem to be doing ok. I recently asked about stopping prednisolone but was advised not yet. I tried stopping omeprazole myself and was ok for about 4 weeks then started stomach problems, so back on them.

My diet is definitely not vegetarian, I've tried a nearly vegetarian diet and it doesn't agree with me. The advice about supplements is interesting, so might try.
