Hi Trace, I was on RoActemra for just over a year and it gradually stopped working for me too. Although my esr stayed low my symptoms increased. I was tired, sore, stiff and each week the symptoms started quicker. I didn't have the energy to shop or lead my normal life, whatever normal is. Anyway I was switched to Xeljanz in January. It's early days so I'm not sure yet if it's helping or not. What does your rheumatologist say about your next steps?
Hi
Seeing rheumatologist on the 11th of March did say at last appointment maybe new avenue was needed.I feel the same as you sore and tired hard to work and go to college.thanks
It seems to be the norm for some of us. We do ok then the drugs stop working and then we switch to another. Luckily new drugs are being developed all the time.
I hope you get on ok and feel back to your old self soon x
Hi Trace I've been on RoActemra injections for over 3 years. I've had flares on and off which have settled down with a course of steroids, do you think it has stopped working altogether? Sometimes I think I am at the end of the road with this drug but then I get a reprieve. Hope you can get something sorted on the 11th and find a way forward.
I have had RA for 19 years and the drugs failed on me about every 1 1/2 years. My rheumatologist was wonderful and immediately got me on the next biologic before I had any damage. I was on Actemra twice but my blood pressure went way up and I stopped the drug and went to Rituxan. Good luck.
