Month 4 of sulpha and think I’m 95% there minimum swelling pain etc aside from one foot. Seeing the Rheumy tomorrow for a follow up. Was thinking of seeing if the sulpha can be increased (currently on 4 a day) or asking if I can add on hydroxy.... not keen on the idea of MTX whilst things are improving.
Any one had experience of asking re the above ?
Cheers

Hi I’m month 3 on ss and like you I feel so much better pain wise. Like you I have a foot that doesn’t want to give up being a bit painful. My left shoulder and left hand are also a bit tender but it’s all manageable . I hate taking meds as they all have side effects, especially long term. Methotrexate is very strong and toxic and like you I’m not keen on having it.
It won’t hurt to ask the question I think though if your inflammation is decreasing all be it reasonably slowly they’ll look at all your results and das score before adding to it or increasing the sulpha. The decision will ultimately be there’s but of course if you think you need more help then ask away. At the end of the day it’s your body and you know best.
