Odd information from researching showing anti-inflammatory results of... Beer?

I've read more than once from sources I deem credible that beer is good for inflammation. Guideline is 1 to 4 per week to bring it down. Also read other info, mostly from alternative medicine sites and general health articles that say stay away. So far I've found some legitimate studies, but they have been small. Results show a positive correlations. I may have seen some info on the Arthritis foundation site. Then I've read some articles that advocate beer. Wine is also supposed to be helpful to a lesser degree. Doing tons of research, dealing with my symptoms and anxiety always with other life stressors I've been remiss in accounting for where the information was found. I do know I consider them all reliable. Will dig into it more through Google Scholar to find studies. I just wanted to see what kind of input you guys have.

Just an afterthought, I studied dairy a lot too. Results conflict like crazy. The debate is whether it's inflammatory. My personal conclusion from reading the studies is that it isn't inflammatory, but a obviously a problem for those with lactose intolerance.

One more thing, and I remember the sources, is that a soda (cokes in my case) per day increases RA risk by 63%. I was horrified. I've been addicted to the stuff most of my life far exceeding that amount. I'm now on a healthy diet and avoid it save for a few cheats. Lost 16 pounds, no longer prediabetic and cholesterol in normal range. Anyway the soda info is from the Arthritis Foundation.

I've thrown in a lot more than I intended to in this post. Mainly, I'm curious about the beer thing. If my memory is right one source was from the Arthritis Foundation, which advocated quit smoking and quit the soda to vastly decrease the risk of RA. Of course it can't cure it once you have it, but it says it's a preventative measure. I'm hoping, maybe foolishly, I don't have full blown RA and diet might help prevent it. Still no defiinitive diagnosis.

RD is such a nasty beast

I had to give up drinking due to other health issues, well a year later i came down with ra. I have since seen somewhere that a moderate amount of alcohol keeps ra down. Now don't quote me on that, but it did seem like that with me. I don't go looking too much into the causes of my health because i have enough problems without go looking into it more and i don't want to be more depressed than i already am with my health darling.xxxx

Sugar can be a real destructive force to many

Yes, I've cut my sugar out...mostly save for some cheats on occasion. Like the holidays. Even then a much lower intake.

Last time I had a beer I could l feel my knees throbbing and beginning to swell. They got huge! So for me, I’d say this isn’t true.

Interesting. U would have thought beer would be bad with the wheat etc as lot of people react to that.

Coke I agree is evil.stuff. I was told to give it up by my diabetic doctor as it makes your diabetes much worse, particularly the diet stuff. I stopped completely and am in diabetes remission and lost 7 stone now. Simple advice ,unlike some if the other diet stuff aRound, seems to help!

For anyone who replied to my post. I did get the info from the Arthritis Foundation. More details in a new post I put up. Basically, some reliable research shows it is helpful in prevention. Not as much for symptoms once you have them. My guess, completely guesswork based on your posts is it might be beneficial for some, but cause more pain for others. Sometime when I'm feeling brave I might try it out. I recommend the Arthritis Foundation for great info, but passing on the community. This one is far superior!
