I too have bladder urgency. I’m on Methotrexate injection but worse I’ve had really nasty flare ups of diverticulitis which I never had before. I take fibre in my meals but feel sure it’s the methotrexate. Does anyone else have this problem.
Thanks everyone.

Methotrexate plays havoc with my full gut from an ulcerated mouth with mucositis to indigestion, wind, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, constipation .....but it helps my brainfog and aches so much. It is a balancing act.
I've reduced my dose of MTX - gut problems improved but the RD is causing big problems again.
In my experience rheumatologist are not particularly interested in the gut issues unless you complain loudly.
Have you been tested for Celioc as similiar sysmptoms ? I was tested and it came back posative but please don't stop eating gluten if you think you might be, as the blood test can't be done becauase its looking for antibodies.
The second year I was on Methotrextate I had diverticulitis twice. It was nasty and ended up in hospital with second bout. I agree the RA specialist doesn’t see a link but I’m convinced there is. I’m off of Methotrexate now and on enebral and I’m going into my fourth dose this week. I’m hoping it kicks in soon as I’ve been in a flare since late October. I still watch what I eat as I’m always worried I’ll get the diverticulitis again. Good luck.
Thanks Ninaseven. I’m pretty sure the Methotrexate is the culprit because I’d never had diverticulitis before. I take Fibogel and eat fruit and veg. My GP said it was a lack of fibre but I tried to take more but it still flares up. You’re right it’s horrible and I feel sorry that you ended up in hospital. You must have had it really bad.
The diarrhoea I had with methotrexate was one of the many things that made me feel the side effects were not worth the benefits. But I still get intestinal hurry (sounds so much more elegant!) with my present treatment partially controlled by the codeine medication I take for pain.
I was put on methotrexate needles after taking the tablets for three years, which made me really sick, the needles was easier to have than the sickness of tablets, but I got really bad diarrhoea and couldn’t control it and sickness , so I came off it completely and take Sulphasalazine, which I get no sickness from now and feel a thousand times better. Can’t beleive I stayed on it all that time.
