Hi guys hope you are all on sunday was in hospital 10 times they tried to canulate me now even soarer than went in arms all bruised and swollen home now and glad infortunatly got to go in soon twice to be canulated any volunteers to take.my place

Hi, sorry to read this! It’s horrible when they can’t gdt the cannula in isn’t it..they always trouble with me and if I don’t have someone who’s good at it end up black and blue!!

They tend to use a small yellow needle on me and I try to make sure I well hydrated as this makes the veins plump up..sadly the more blood tests we have the harder it is to find a nice juicy soft one!!

Easy solution as they are only allowed to try 3 times ask for the anethatist with the vein trapper. I 've just spent a month in 2 hospitals and have mobile and small veins the new type of canula for people like me is bad so the anethatist will be able to use the old ones and next time I'been advised a shunt with be put in under sedation as its just not right to inflict this on someone when they ant blood every 4 hours and need to put blood and fluid in. Just worth bearing in mind you can say stop.

Something not right there, after a few attempts I think someone else / something new should be tried. But you don't need to accept 10 attempts ! I would ask before they start next time what the plan is if they are unsuccessful after a few attempts.

Thanks for your comments the nursetried 3 times it was the registar that took 7 attemps did tell them but tipple.they dont listen
