Taboo subject-and pain

I know people don't like talking about this and I find it shy too, so just going to go for it and talk about it.

it might be nothing to do with it but I find if I go to number 2 my pain afterwards seems worse in my joints, if I don't go for couple of days I am not as bad.

it might just seem that way, and nothing to do with it, but has anyone else thought this too?? I know I am clutching at straws but it seems that way

Very interesting reading. I think we can all agree with most of it .

Have had trouble in the past with no.2ssss. And taking so many tablets is sure to make you constipated .which can make you feel sick and bunged up .can.t say if it makes pain better or worse .will watch for that in future. Hugs xxkathyxx

Hi can't say I am affected in that way so at least one thing that isn't an issue! I would suggest talking to your GP about it though as there may be a connection?

Interesting veronica I have had gut problems for years well before r a diagnosis. Have read that it could have been a trigger for r a. I have to say while on injected mxt the gut side of things is generally much better. One of those "who knows " questions! So many with this wretched disease! Hey ho!

The great thing about this site is that we can say it all!!

Which joints are worse?

I do know that if you have damaged certain spinal joints through a fall/accident that it can effect your gut.

As for number 2's, like most I felt I was undergoing colonic irrigation (not that I have had it though) everyday until I moved on the MTX by jab!

I think it might be a good idea not to overthink stuff. We are all different and I had to fill in a stool chart whilst in hospital the past few weeks. The 12 or so pictures of normal, shocked me but they did get worried if not every day. Just an observation really. And so sorry but did wonder if it would help if you kept a diary as it may be down to something as sinple as the weather. I always feel worse when its damp.

I know where you’re coming from I have a permanent colostomy due to bowel cancer at 35 lol. I’ve found that meds make all the difference to how my gut is feeling. I was put on antibiotics for 6 weeks to help my immune system it played absolute havoc was running to the loo far too often and then constipated the next day so I think I managed to build up meds in my gut on constipated days. To sort the problem out I came off all medication but i am on low dose steroids atm. Anyway to the point I’ve been taking probiotics for a month now and I feel better than I have done in years 😃😃 my metabolism is much better stomach doesn’t hurt no more running to the loo at all and generally my joints and RA feels a little better too. X

I am into horses, and I know with horses, digestion starts within the mouth, if they don't chew or can't chew their food-it opens a hole load of ( trouble in their digestion track)

how many times do we not really chew our food before swallowing??
