RA is a very curious disease. I will get a painful hand or wrist or shoulder etc for a couple of days on one side of my body and it then immediately switches to the same place on the other side of my body. I would love to know why. Anybody else experience this? Thanks

Switching sides
Mine is somewhat random - can go from one side to the other or can strike anywhere - or nowhere. Today's pattern is left ankle and right shoulder/ribs. Recently had no inflamed joints for 3 whole weeks - during a bad chest infection. Presumably the auto-antibodies had something useful to do, now they're a bit bored and are back to being annoying.
In a word No!
I have been diagnosed for 20 years & have never experienced the symmetrical pain/swelling I read is typical RA.
I can have a painful right wrist at the same time as a painful left shoulder, then maybe one will go & be replaced by pain in another joint. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason ...extra exertion or resting make no difference.
I just cope with it as I feel necessary....eventually it calms down- until the next time!
Hope all yours calms down soon.
