Xray

Also... I’ve been told to have an X-ray on my painful, swollen knee. Will an X-ray show much? She wants to know if it is deterioration of RA or something mechanical. I thought joint xrays basically just showed the bones or will inflammation show up? Thanks

If you have a painful swollen knee you do have inflammation. If there is some erosion in your joint it can be seen on x-ray but not neccessarily if it's not big enough. Ultra sound and MRI show early signs of erosion better.
