Urticaria/Hives from Methotrexate

Hey. It's been my 3rd week on MTX injections and I am wondering if I am the only one who experiences hives as a side effect.

Is it possible that there is a another trigger factor? Or maybe it's just my RA? I haven't had this before MTX and it's really bothering me

Hi Cosana there is a post that Juliehh started regarding hives. Not specifically on Methotrexate but it seems that quite a few of us have or are suffering from Hives. I was on Cimzia when it started with me from head to toe at times.. I’m not on Cimzia now (still trying to find the ‘one’) but I do still get it from time to time. I am under the dermatologist who has prescribed me Fexofenadine and they seem to control it. It does seem that there is a link between Hives and RA. Sarah x

Thank you very much. They're gone now.

I find it strange that every week I seem to experience different side effects. Is it normal? Or it's all in my head?

Hi.. I’m sure that it’s not in your head. The side effects from all of these meds can be ridiculous. If your not sure you can always post on this site and someone will generally experienced the same xxx
