I started on Benepali last March and am always hungry. I have put on ten pounds! has anyone else found this or am I just being greedy?
Always hungry : I started on Benepali last March and am... - NRAS
Always hungry
Have understood that Benepali affects the glucose in your blood. Telling your body that you need more fuel. When I had hypoglycemia I could only fix it by adding good carbs like fruits honey and so on. You do not put on weight in doing this and it may take away your hunger. Good luck.
What's the source of your information? I'd like to know more about that.
Here is quite a good link on weight gain with Humira and eventual causes.
I have actually had three episodes of unexpected weight loss. Fully investigated with no obvious cause.
Interesting. I have generally borderline/low readings so I wonder what Enbrel will do to me? Only taken 2 does so far so a bit early - but I might ask for this to be included in next blood test rather than waiting till next scheduled one (my blood sugars are only checked every 6 months along with vit D and so on)
How are you feeling with Enbrel? Are you taking MTX with it? When I had my flare and terrible hospital experience, I was ready to take anything ( even though they didn't give me anything) I asked about Enbrel and mtx and they told me mtx wasn't taken with enbrel anylonger(?). Sounded good to me but after getting inflammation down I had changed my mind about taking the step.I hope it will work for you and am very interested in hearing how it goes.
At the moment I'm on Enbrel, + full doses of MTX, hydroxy and sulphasalazine, + two antibiotics for TB, + the other drugs I take...... and so far, so good. I really do think that the care and attention I pay to diet and exercise makes it possible for my metabolism to cope with this heavy load. I'm having blood tests every 10 days to be sure that it is coping, and there's been a small rise in liver enzymes but not extreme.
However, since the antibiotics have made my blood pressure drop hugely I have at least been able to stop those pills!
You really do sound like an iron lady! 👍🏻
Not an Iron Lady please!! Actually I like to think that I'm the opposite in that my body can flex and bend to accommodate things. But only another 4 weeks to go and I stop antibiotics and can start to taper off other drugs..
