Filling legs?

Good morning lovely people. This is a weird one but please bear with me. When I'm walking around I get this strange feeling in my legs, as if they are filling up and the longer I walk the higher the "fill level". It doesn't seem to get higher than just over my knees. Sometimes when I'm just sitting or in bed it's as though I have just taken off some thick woolly walking socks. That sort of itchy, unexpectedly warm feeling. It has been happening on and off for years and none of the health care professionals has had any sort of answer. Basically just shrugged it off. Has anyone else had this or am I going (even further) round the bend?

No you are not going mad Gnarli.......many people have weird feelings in their legs & feet...often it's down to circulation& once you put your feet up, the blood flow normalises & things settle down.

As long as your doctors aren't worried, you shouldn't fret.

Thank you for your kind advice. So, its only the usual lunacy I have to deal with.

Hi, For what it’s worth I get a hot burning feeling in my feet, but other than that legs are fine.

That's nasty. Like, burning, itching and tingling? Me too. I'm going to have to see the GP I think. I'll let you know what happens

I was getting that feeling, and a numb left foot when I walk, when I went for an ultra sound scan it revealed I had tarsal tunnel, it’s like carpal tunnel, except it runs up a tunnel just behind the ankle, there is a trapped nerve there . I’m waiting on an op and hopefully it should be ok. I’ve had my carpal tunnel injected last week seems a lot better. Suggest mentioning it to you Dr, won’t hurt and might be your answer, it took a lot of asking before someone took me seriously. Good luck

Thank you so much for your reply. I was feeling so stupid as nobody I had spoken to about it took it seriously. The GP, rheumy nurse, rheumy, practice nurse all took no notice. I'll have another go. Thanks again

That 'heavy feeling' in the legs is listed as a side effect of a drug I started recently & it tells me that if I develop it, to tell my doctor. The drug that I am now taking, is Eplerenone. Maybe you should look at the info sheets with the drugs you take.

Heavy legs are well recognised in France, people talk about them, articles in magazines and spa treatments specifically to help them. But yes it is circulation. To help make sure that your shoes fit well, as you need proper arch support to help circulation, maybe stick a pillow under your feet at night, and don't wear socks or half tights that constrict you calf in any way.

Me neither. Her profile has suddenly gone to"hidden" and I can't reply to her last post. I'll try 'chat'. I'd hate her to think I'm ignoring her

Nah... not evn approaching it!. thinks it's part n parcel or par 4the course. I had just opposite yesterday, after my first ever ayurvedic facial I felt my legs draining... It was wonderful, no chemicals just herbal powders but fly home from Majorca on Sunday. AAAAAH. Sob.. I wd cry except don't want to ruin the look... my ingrained deep wrinkles are reduced by ?60% even hypercrit him was amazed. and all for 20 euros, with pain management tips like rubbing backs of hands 2gether for 2 mins. I'm sure Kai wd explain it, if s/he weren't banned! U get tingling feet too as if walking on hot sand? It's referred to as 'neuropathy' so maybe the leg feelings are the same.... xox

The tingling and numb foot I have they thought was neuropathy due to the diabetes type 1, but it turned out to be tarsal tunnel, which is curable thankfully. Took a while as I said before they agreed to check it out.

Nothing happens quickly with RA does it?

Ooh but that sounds blissful. The facial - not the tingling feet obvs.

and still visible changes 3days later ; ayurvedic diet has helped but this herbal facial was something else..... already looking for another holiday here LOL but they want to put me on rituximab in 10 days time so better hold my horses for now. i'd recommend the facial to anyone, so mild compared to usual stuff, peels etc. will try n track down one where i live now [o/side belfast] but may get a trip back elsewhere...soton, b'mouth or london. xx

Hi! I hope you don’t have what I have, peripheral neuropathy in both legs. Has gotten worse in the last five years. They say nothing helps. I keep searching and saw a new method of deep stimulation that a doctor is working with. I believe he’s a neurologist. I may look into this.
