Hi, I am hoping for a little advice

I have RA , I have always worked but for the past 7ish years have worked part time .

I have been made redundant, company closed , because I haven’t paid enough class 1

contributions they will not give me jobseekers Allowance !!!!

What am I allowed to claim for , as I said I have never not worked and the one time I ask for something it comes back as a big fat NO 😢😢😢

Dont seem to be getting any help from anyone

I feel for you. I was fostering after stopping lecturing and silly me didnt work out I had to pay my own stamp. I didnt get sick pay or anything. I cant get anything because my husband earns about £3,000 a year too much. So my understanding is its means tested. I wish you luck. Someone else on here will know more than me I am sure.

You might be entitled to income related ESA, rather than contributory? Use one of the reputable calculators to see if there is anything you can get, here...

There is an excellent website entitledto.co.uk

Where you can work out if there’s any benefit you aren’t claiming that you’re entitled to.

It is recommended on money saving expert website so it should be quite good, and there’s a forum on moneysavingexpert too the people are very helpful and knowledgeable if you wanted to ask their advice.

Hope that helps
