Injured ankle -so annoyed!

Managed to turn my ankle yesterday afternoon and spent hours at A&E - not fractured but ripped ligaments and have tennis ball swelling out of side of ankle ☹️ On crutches for now which hurts my wrists and hands to use. Can’t drive as hurts to push pedals. Really hurts, so annoyed I had stupid accident as now have weeks of recovery to manage which I just don’t need on top of stupid RA in the first place. Aaaaaaaaaa!!! 😖

So sorry to hear about your ankle. How totally frustrating as well as painful. I hope you can access some physio through your Rheum dept and that you have an understanding Rheum Nurse, even if the Consultant is (if I recall correctly), offhand. Wishing you well.

Just what you didn't want or need! I do hope it heals quickly for you. Hugs

Trying to think of something cheering to say without much success as sounds like the last thing you need. At least your children are likely to grow up resourceful and independent as that's what they see their mother being....

Can’t “Like” that, but I hope you get your ankle sorted. Probably lots of RICE for the first couple of days? Get better soon, cheers Deb :)

Yes, the fun continues! I really hope you're not in so much pain now and the ankle will heal quickly. 🌻 xx

I am sorry to hear about your accident Blighty and I know how you feel. In February, I fell and ruptured two tendons in my right shoulder, and then believe it or not, ten days later I fell and ruptured two tendons in my left arm. It has been a nightmare and I couldn't even lift my arms up more than a few inches and the pain was very bad. I needed help to do every little thing. I have been having physio and working hard at it and it has certainly helped a lot. I am still not back to how I was before the accident and the doctor says I will never get full use back. However, I am miles better now and can do most things again. So I would say for you to have physio and do lots of it and I think you will have a great improvement. I wish you well and hope you improve quickly.
