Hi all, was going through my digital scrapbook, in which I used to note down my feelings, after I was diagnosed with ITP, 4 years back.
Saw this one, when I had tapered my dose from 60 mg and was free from steroids for a while. But withdrawal was even more terrifying.
Oh, for a fix
Not to be on a high
But to maintain a low.
Oh, for a fix
To reduce the tremor
To stop the sweat shower
To clear the foggy brain
To do chores without strain.
Oh, for a fix
To stop the pain
To energy regain
To go for an outing
To go shopping and aimless walking
Oh, for a fix
To end the nightmares
To drive away all fears
To dress with a steady hand
To dance once, to the band
Oh, for a fix,
Not to be on a high
But to maintain a low.
By Low, I mean the immune system should not be on over drive .
Now, I am off steroids. But can NEVER FORGET THOSE DAYS.
