Rituximab and upset tum: Only one infusion so far on... - NRAS
Rituximab and upset tum
Hi Maggie, after my 1st course of rituximab i had terrible gastritis. I was advised to take stemetil for the nausea and increase omeprazole. This did help , the nurse thought the steroid may have caused the problem also slowing the over all infusion maybe easier to tolerate. My infusions have been given at a slower rate ever since and i have not had the same problem and I always remind them just in case 😀 Do discuss it with your rheumy Nurse or doctor, i have always found them very helpful . I hope your second infusion goes a bit easier, rest up and drink lots of fluids. Best wishes xx
My oncologist gave me a script for stomach problems when I was doing the infusions. I never had to take them however. I received a steroid and benedryl before I did my infusion because I had an allergic reaction to the Rituxan. My throat started to swell up. So perhaps the steroid helped any stomach problems. But at any rate, there are medications you can take for tummy problems.
