NRAS Group Meetings— Week Commencing 14th May 2018
Swansea NRAS Group
Meetings are held at Sketty Parish Centre, De La Beche Road, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 9AR (on the corner with Gower Road - A4118) once every other month on a Monday, please see meeting dates and times below.
14th May 7:30-9pm - Guest speakers from the Singleton Hospital Rheumatology Unit will present: 'Updates in Rheumatology & Questions and Answers on Rheumatoid Arthritis'
Hertfordshire NRAS Group
Quarterly meetings are held at Welwyn Civic Centre, Prospect Place, Welwyn AL6 9ER on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
15th May - Guest speaker: Mark Boscher, Manager of the Letchworth MS Therapy Centre will be talking about hyperbaric oxygen therapy which might help in the management of pain and fatigue in conditions like Fibromyalgia and RA.
3 Counties NRAS Group
This group meets at St. Francis Church Hall, 121 Upper Chobham Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU15 1EE bi-monthly on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
15th May - Guest speaker from Citizens Advice (formally CAB) from Surrey Health will talk about PIP and other advice/benefit services that are available
Torbay NRAS Group
This group hold their meetings at: Barton Baptist Church, Happaway Road, Barton, Torquay, TQ2 8HJ once every other month on a Tuesday from 7:00-9:00pm.
15th May - Guest speaker: Lynne Roberts, Registered UK Mindfulness Teacher (formerly Physiotherapist for 30 years) who also suffers from an inflammatory illness, will present: 'Managing our pain through Mindfulness'
West Wales NRAS Group
The West Wales NRAS Group have a new venue for 2018! Meetings now held at: The Picton Centre, 104 Freemans Way, Haverfordwest, SA61 1UG and will take place once every other month on a Wednesday from 6:30pm.
16th May - A member of the team from the foot clinic will be talking to the Group about how to look after your feet with RA
Blackpool NRAS Group
Blackpool and District NRAS Group (BADRAG) meet in the cafeteria at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, Lytham St. Annes, FY8 1PB from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on the third Thursday of alternate months, January through to November.
17th May - Meet the Rheumatology Nurses - their role in your treatment and the service they provide
North East NRAS Group
The North East Group run quarterly educational meetings which are held in Function Room 137, Education Centre, Level 1, Freeman Hospital, High Heaton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE7 7DN from 5.30pm-8.00pm.
17th May - You are invited to a talk by Dr Kathy Murphy, Director and Named Veterinary Surgeon of the Comparative Biology Centre, Newcastle University on - 'The Role of the Vet in Animal Research' and Professor Andrew Mellor, Professor of Translational Immunology, Newcastle University on - 'Why are Animals used in Arthritis Research'
Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group
The Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group are holding all future meetings in the outpatients waiting area at the Haywood Hospital, High Lane, Burslem, ST6 7AG on the third Thursday of every other month from 7:00-8:30pm.
17th May - Guest speaker: Clare Jacklin, Director of External Affairs at NRAS will present: 'All New NRAS Activities'
Yeovil NRAS Group
This year all coffee meets will be held at Palmers Garden Centre Coffee Shop, Bernards Way, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, BA20 2FH from 10:30am-12:00pm. Next coffee morning: Thursday 17th May.
You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
