Pulsed radio frequency lessioning

I just had this procedure done 2 weeks ago on the saphenous nerve cluster in both knees. I have been told I do not qualify for new knees yet so my Anesthesiologist suggested I try this procedure. It is very similar to radio ablation of nerves but does not cause scar tissue. So when the nerves start working again pain will be at a minimum.

It took 10 minutes per knee with two big needle probes, one on either side of the nerve cluster. A little painful to start, but I am starting to feel the relief they said would happen. I was told 4-6 weeks for fully benefit. So two weeks in and things are looking promising.

I would suggest that anyone not qualifying for new knees to get this done. The main problem this is used for is severe chronic back pain, although they have just started doing knees this way in Vancouver British Columbia Canada.

Hope everyone is well, or as well as can be. Will keep you posted on the final outcome of this procedure.

Scott

Glad to hear that you have found something that helps with the pain. Interesting that you were offered it for knee pain - are you in the US?

I am in Canada. I have had chronic knee pain for the last 3+ years and have been off work for 2.5 years. Also I have almost zero knee cartilage left. It is a new procedure in Canada from what I understand for knees. Mostly done for hips and backs.
