Hi I am in a dilemma as to what to do, I am having a really horrible flare with my wrist unable to move I have been put with a different rheumy nurse who I feel is nothing like the one I used to see and I feel uncomfortable asking to see the original one as this one is making me wait 6 to 8 weeks before doing a scan or x ray on it then I have to wait another 3 months before seeing the rheumy doctor meanwhile my hand is so painfull I cannot use it has anyone faced this waiting time or is it usual.

Thanks Anny

I'm afraid all is fair in RA.......call & ask to see the nurse your trust & if she's really not available stress that you really need to see somebody NOW. RA Waiting times can be horrendous...but you sound as if they would see you if you contact them.

I do know how difficult it is to get up the energy to pick up the phone...I live alone & have spent many hours telling myself I need to see the nurse or the rheumy...have eventually made the decision& have been told I should have contacted the rheumy team earlier......

Plan B could be to see either your GP or the practice nurse & see if they can help.

Good Luck

Thanks for your reply, got really brave and phoned the rheumy secretary and told her I really wanted to see my original nurse who is lovely and you can talk to her and she got me an appointment to see her 2nd week in May. It has lifted me so much not having to go back to the other nurse who seems so uncaring. Thanks again for replying and it gave me the courage to phone up and push,

Good Luck to you too

That's wonderful Anny.....don't you feel better after you know you are going to see someone you trust to help you?

I'm doing well right now thank you. My Post Viral Rash after having flu in January is at last fading .....so I won't be the one hiding under a shroud on the beach ....just under a huge umbrella if this rain continuesI

I'm sure your rheumy nurse will help you in May. In the meantime try to remain calm......I'm surethings wil settle down now you know help is on the way.

Yes that's my thinking too was so down and pain is now in shoulder but spirits definitely lifted with the thought of some decent help. Good Luck to you and lets hope it is a sun umbrella you need :))

I'm afraid it seems as if those who shout loudest get the quickest treatment - but you should always do it politely so as not to get anyone's back up!

Thanks for your reply, I have now phoned and got an appointment with my original nurse so feel over the moon wasn't pushy but told them what I was going through.

Thanks

Anny
