As if RA alone isn't enough to bear! Sorry you have this condition too. I occasionally get blepharitis which I put down to Sjögren's syndrome and I'm hoping that dry eyes are caused by that alone. Recently I've had sore very bloodshot eyes with discharge but no pain or itchiness. Could you describe your early symptoms and what I should be alert for please?

What you have is HLAB27 positive your immune attack your spine and your eyes inflammation same as me see a reumatologist may be he put you under a suitable TNF blocker some use sulphazaline, it is genetic the eyes fed the bad news I have cataract in both eyes of the long use of the steroid drops as maxidex or predenefrin forte , immune disorder you have the iritis is the attack the body turn on us mistaken as foreign antibodies and attack cause fission and inflammation, see a good reumatologist

See a good ophthalmologist to see how you go beware of your eyes , all the light the body enjoy come via this precious organs , if inflammation exist on tbe blood the immune attack , in those cases as for me they give MAXIDEX drops plus atropine to dilate the pupil to avoid the kence to stick on the cornea and some times they do give predisolone , short term , but the eyes affected by the body especially from the blood immune the white cells most of the time attack we all are different yes , I see a good eye doctor here who operate me both eyes 6 years ago , but the eyes is delicate organs , are a good doctor they tell you what is the cause also your GP can do ESR CRP blood tests to see if inflammation exist , if exist see reumatologist they are Spesialist on those as many have this conditions , to me since 1984 when I was 24 the eyes start first both and my lower back severe pain the trouble was start for me that year , I do know I have a blood disorder progressing but I try to control it , see a good doctor and follow up your eyes it is sweet to see the light

You have try 7 TNF blockers ? Why so many ? They no work that way , HUMIRA do take time to work same as methotrexate one tablet 2.5 last one week on the blood to drop , maxidex can be used sparingly under Spesialist supervision , I presume you follow reumatologist plus eye Spesialist , please follow they advise , even after cataract operation the immune will attack the eyes the body no like anything foreign within , we are made this way , they add synthetic lenses in my case they add TORIC Spesial lenses to avoid blurred vision was brilliant the operation after the immune attack again this is the way how the body operate but keep Close relationship with your doctors

Steroids made by the Andrenal glands as we are ageing the Body reduce to make sufficient hormones and the ageing process kick in , you need to consider your diet plus all medications you take , the body can get confused and all those chemicals cause harm , I try Enbrel 50 Mg weekly I was self inject for my ankylosing spondylitis, from 2012 on 2014 I found accidentally I have thyroid cancer which they remove my thyroid after 6 hours operation on 2015 I undergo aspergillosis. Lung infection I take sporanox even the mark for re start TNF blockers is 5 years after cancer I was cheating using the Enbrel sparingly because of the pain and condition, I am on my 60 s now but my condition was found and start 1984 when I was 24 years old far to long suffering, the inflammation also cause cancer plus radiation, my doctor ask me to use Enbrel again every two weeks plus voltaren 50 I try Celebrex 100 they rase my blood pressure, I even try methotrexate 2.5 only this last one week today I have accupanture plus remedial massage id does help , I use 5 Mg predisolone 500 mg sulphazaline and some how the braked work as we speak , I have notice this disorder react different on everyone and different blood type , I am no suggest anything I just say what I do , I follow medical advise since the start , I do not have anymore uveitis some how stop was on and off little they say HUMIRA works on that , I try it was no work on me , but I notice my body use to the Enbrel but the inflammation was high plus prostate PSA was elevated since injection it allow cancer cells to grow anywhere as immune is dropped , the other day I was no able to get up from the bed or lift my right leg to cross over I see my Chinese friend he give me a good remedial massage plus accupanture and here back to normal, stay in one biological medication no cocktail them , Ron try what ever work well , I think when you use the maxidex you should have use a drop who drop the pressure of the eye do you damage the optic nerve , of the eye pressure go high than 20 damage can occurred I was using this is well to drop eye pressure , that is what happens to you steroids increase pressure on the eye , you miss to use TENOPT EYE DROPS 0.5% or the TIMOLOL 5mg/as they call it this drops drop the eye pressure who increase with maxidex 0.1% why they no ask you to use TENOPT DROPS ? that’s way you loose your vision possible the maxidex increase eye pressure you no drop or check and lost your vision , some optometrist do the eye pressure check on uveitis condition first they do give PREDENEFRIN FORTE 1% and ISOPTO HOMATROPINE 2.0% to Dialate the pupil to avoid the lense stick on the cornea , and TENOPT one drop to keep eye pressing normal , maxidex is stronger than predenefrin forte , they also give predisolone about 10 to 20 mg to fight from within , that is what occurred you no use TENOPT to drop eye pressure normal bellow 20 , they should have tell you that , all medications have side effects , the TNF blockers allow or make the immune no to fight cancer cells , and cancer can grow anywhere , doctors are well protected , if we get cancer what happens to us ? We try the best we can , IBS is another issue which I found sulphazaline direct release work faster than the EN this is slow process , the way we eat is well , many factors contributing to inflammation, it is catch 22 all those disorders hard to treat , but is possible to bring the beast as I call it under control. Cure is no exist at this point , in my case I am very sceptical to re use ENBREL as can flare camcer anywhere , I do notice however low dose of methotrexate like 2.5 500 sulphazaline pkus 5 predisolone work well and safe that is what I notice in compare the booster of ETANACEPT , and I no want to use it I have it in my fridge , but no use this is my case I have phobia , can you blame me after what I have go trough ? Doctors are beautiful my body is the doctor , if say no I say no if say yes I go along , accupanture many doctors no believe, that Ian they issue it works combine , with some soft exercise plus remedial massage and proper medications what’s we after is control , in your case you should have use TENOPT drops when you are on maxidex I was using as common sense , and i Protect my vision , possible your doctor forget to mention to you to use one drop on each eye TENOPT to drop the eye pressure , all steroids affect the body but we do need steroids to function, without them we are off , the body do produce steroids , but I think we are adding lots of staff on it and it happens , that s way all medications are under medical advise , however some doctors do follow they own ideas and everyone think different than anyone this is the issue eventually the body decide what is good and bad for the body itself, try your best but watch the TNF blockers use one no different ones

Hi skyline1978teddy1957 u have had a lot of conditions. So rheaumtoglist is trying to treat both also eyes .I'm the only patient with uvittis vision loss he has .him and my eye consultant it's joint care make a difference when they listen. I do attend hospital for my uvittis vision loss since 1993 lol.ill ask when I'm up in March about eye drops and eye pressure I've never had problems with the pressure they keep close eye on me thanks for ur experience x amy

What cause the eye vision loss you know ? I do not think you do , who is treating you in the first place ? In my case I see a good Chinese eye Spesialist and he teach me all how to look after those organs , you have blood disorder as I do. You no play experiment with this powerful drugs HUMIRA is monoclone antibiotics TNF blocker take time to work , Enbrel ETANACEPT works faster , but no as much on the eye as they think , it does work on the eye , when you control the ESR CRP on the blood who is a market of current inflammation , the doctors do not take those medications they ask the patients for feedback and so they learn , reumatoid arthritis methotrexate on low doses works well take long time however, but they no work on the spine no sulphazaline who work in the pheripheral joints but no the spine , uveitis may appear on one eye as present inflammation or both eyes however leave scars , as the immune mistaken attack the body try to destroy the joints the white cells , run to battle to destroy the enemy within , mistaken they own place as emeny this is the situation we have The TNF blockers suppress the immune or the protein who cause this but allow T cells to grow elsewhere , immune destroy cancer T cells daily , as we grow older the ageing process take over this cannot be reverse no human is capable to reverse this , so we know. Genetic blood disorder is what we have with no cure what we do then , we treated like an animal who turn on us same time in friendly manner , you no try all those biologicals you try one and you adding one like voltaren or Celebrex depends whatnot is work on you , with the TNF blockers exist a dangerous situation for anyone to get lymphoma and indeed many have cases like that , that is what my professor tell me , what’s they tell you over there and which county you are I do not know , they are dangerous medications we are no made to use those original do we , it looks to me many love to play or learn the hard way , doctors make mistakes they know it and a good doctor will admit that’ they do not know how those drugs work however many on forums act like facebook in social media , this is serious conditions , and need Spesial care and sometimes multiple treatments the knowledge means nothing , the. Target is to bring those conditions under control and we continue living until we pass away eventually the body shut down , in some 70 to 80 years or more some , if I was you I no use a cocktail of TNF blockers I use one who work under medical supervision, and because you do not know about your eye pressure you go blind , even when no iritis or uveitis no exist at present it is worth it to check eyes for pressure optometrist can do that or use a drop of TENOPT to decrease pressure or glaucoma the person get who damage the optic nerve and you go blind , the lenses of your eyes made out of water and indeed the body is made or is water and certain substances , if we loose 50% water we died , here is all about water earth is a planet water have you notice ? It is about time , I will no use many biological medications no I am in favour of those drugs , in USA however exist immune therapy for cancer the immune can be corrected to Behave in a proper way , they need to do more research for that , in 1980 s they do give predisolone for those disorders and methotrexate was found in the 50 s some use sulphazaline and methotrexate I have try this right now as we speak , just 2.5 , last one week but is toxic drug , what about the REMICADE CIMBIA HUMIRA ENBREL And so on let’s make it all cocktail and inject no work that way , all those made because everyone’ have different enzymes and blood type and what work on me no work on you , but do doctors know which one go for each person ? I do not think so if they know why you use many ? That is the answer your blood is confused , I will no way do that , use one week or how long take to use another or if my doctor say pick which one you like , I do try the HUMIRA no work on me , so whatnot I do know , ? For reumatoid arthritis sulphazaline work well so methotrexate or one TNF every two weeks my reaumatologist tell me use Enbrel every two weeks and voltaren 50 one day or two according to tourney situation I use Celebrex and make my systolic pressure very high , also check if you have high blood pressure this can. Destroy all parts of your body kidneys enlarge your heart eyes brain anourism you name it , my brother in law was on 150 systolic always I ask him to drop it he was proud no me I am like that one night he go to bed 1 am and boom brain annourism he rush to hospital They open his brain drain his vessels plus add clamps he survive but he is no the same he have stroke , he never be the same , when was the last you check your systolic pressure is 120/80 110/80 or 160/80 check that to plus use common sense how to look after the wonderful machine we have the Human body , for blood pressure I use angiotensin 2 like KARVEA 150 twice pkus a calcium Chanel blocker like cardizem 60 mg twice , also a plavix 75 which helps the circulation, luz some blood tests to know what is going on within TSH LH FSH PROLACTIN LFT FULL BLOOD COUNT , glucose , ESR CRP FOR YOU AND ME , and if they are normal cool if not we follow , I do respect the medical profession but if a doctor ask me to use a method he think is okay but to me look little odd I say sorry , in every day we make decisions some are without thinking some are automatically, we are directed from the way we are think in fact we are what we are eat and drink , stress and anxiety is well are there who they lower the immune and bring on the inflammation plus oTher disorders , we can talk forever leads no where , my advise to use go along with your body in a normal way possible now you try to fix what many call prevention is better than cure , everyone think different and we are indeed all differently but in some way we function tbe same , just allow your body to function as made to be , and by the way where all that staff we adding they will go ? On the kidneys who filtrate the blood , do you drink 3 to 4 litres water a day ? Everyone shouldn’t ? Purified water the brain is 80 % water without water we cannot survive do we ? Make sense what I say ? Your health is in your hands , take good care of yourself keep good blood pressure and check your eye Pressure is well but ask the surgeon for eye if he can restore your vision if he can , I operated in both eyes for cataract extraction , but the immune keep attacking , this is very bad disorder have you check if you are HLAB27 positive? What exact you have why they treating you for ? My doctor say methotrexate no work on the spine no sulphazaline Celebrex work Qld voltaren and Enbrel etc others say opposite every one think different, just bring yourself under control , your life is Same as you drive a car , you follow your car the rules etc and you enjoy driving what you do if the water temperature go to red level you stop engine and wait or head gasket will blow we are very much the same what the so and so knows or think is not the point what matters is what we do to stay alive and keep on the road as we speak like a good car drive safely use the correct fuel etc I hope you drive well as I have see many love to talk on forums I do not like much this , some of that info may make others think different, but no one drive in the wrong side of the road and think I am okay , life goes on have a good day and if you take a wrong road redirect your GPS so you go back to your destination that is what most people do stay safe

I have restart ENBREL today really works , plus sulphazaline 500 direct release, and voltaren 50 in combination if I need I can add little predisolone no much no to much suppression the immune as long the beast is under control

This is a disorder Like a beast attack out of the blue and no warm he need to be under lease and control a wolf like attack

I was first diagnosed with Iritis/uveitis at the end of the 1970s. I learned very early on, that I had to use preservative free eye drops because the preservatives used, were exacerbating the inflammation. And if you need a drop to reduce the pressures, Cosopt used to be the only one available, I don't know whether there are more now, my pressures are currently under control, so I don't need to use anything.

I have several different autoimmune diseases & have taken a variety of drugs. Methotrexate suited uveitis & helped control it. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking it for other reasons.

I was also on Anti virals for many years, which helped a lot but was told to stop taking them. I have a history of Epstein Barr & Herpes Zoster.

Do ask for preservative free drops.
