Hehe...sweet. Shep would be mortified if I put him in that. I have trouble getting a coat on him in colder weather when wild camping.

Hehe - unfortunately because she had hair,rather than fur,she hadn’t got any undercoat,so they really don’t do very well in extreme cold or hot temps luckily she has a selection of different coats for the varying degrees of weather,and the only one I struggle to get her in is the hurrta one that’s basically the north face type coat for dogs - it completely covers all of her stomach and chest area that would otherwise freeze ❄️ X

Aw what a sweetie, just about to put mine in one and brave the cold: he hates it but will dry himself on rug else! Bizarrely he does love a nice warm blow with the hairdryer, can't get rid of him when doing your hair, he manouevres himself down draft or round yr neck! 😄

That’s fantastic - Minnie likes to chase the hairdryer,even if it involves her smacking her head against it because I can’t move it out of the way quick enough 😝

It’s always a great feeling to have a genuine smile on your face each day,and for me,there’s nothing better than watching animals of any sort..... wether it’s the birds in the garden scurrying about,or a pic of someone else’s pets,you just can’t beat that warm glowing feeling inside that a simple pic can create - absolutely priceless 😊

I love the birds,I have so many different types of feeders to attract different species,and I’ve even arranged it so that the cats can see from the upstairs windows too.... in the shed(which is the cat house to our enclosed garden on the other side) I’ve put privacy screen up on the glass,that way the cats can watch the birds as they feed and come and go and the birds haven’t got a clue - it’s like live tv for the cats 😝 I did use to play the cats the dvd for them(it’s specifically for cats and has all sorts of things they’d enjoy watching on there) but I had to stop that after meg pulled the sky box,complete with bracket clean off the bedroom wall one day where she’d been trying to climb around the back of the telly to find where the mice had run to .... I was too busy laughing to get cross at her 🤣😻

And when I was first diagnosed and going through the mountains of different drug regimes in order to find the right one,because I was often housebound,we turned the top of our shed into a mini roof garden with artificial grass on the roof and feeders and the cats and I used to spend hours watching them all through the bedroom window..... again,it’s the little things that bring you pleasure when you’re climbing the walls because you can’t get out!

Oh you are so on it. What a commitment, im impressed. We have feeding stations in garden with multiple types of food so attract a variety of birds. We get less now as there was 1/3 acre next to us but council sold it so we have bungalows there instead. Helps the plants grow though as its a wind block so dont get wjnd burn on the leaves, but has affected the birds that come, which is a shame

I know how you feel on that one - the old guy on the other side of me cut down some trees while the birds were nesting a couple of years back,so they just moved into the nearest garden,which happened to be mine - I’m now inundated with starlings which strip my poor little cherry tree of any blossom or leaves as soon as it tries growing..... but it does make it all the more exciting when I do spot the smaller,more interesting birds in the garden though - proud mum moment when that happens 😝

I thought it was illegal to disturb/destroy nesting birds trees or other nesting places? We had to get some over-large trees pollarded and that's what we were told.

It is- I got told by the council to report him for wildlife crimes(I’d rung up to see if he had permission to cut the trees because of the noise the birds were making) yet the police didn’t want to know..... I got spoken to like a naughty schoolkid for even ringing them 😤 the only time they came out to see me was after about 3 wks of having my garden trashed because of the pure volume of birds that had suddenly settled in it,that they’d practically broken every ornamental nesting box I had up,all the reeding along the fence,and every time I came in from the garden I had to stand and strip my clothes off in the hallway because I was literally covered in wet bird 💩 because every surface out there was covered in it..... when I rang to complain about that it got put down as criminal damage,and that’s the only way the police came out to see me - I just asked them to make sure he didn’t do it again because as I was housebound at that time he’d literally ruined the only pleasure I had in life at the time.... my teeny bit of garden. He actually denied that he’d even done it,even though I had pictures of him in the act!! And ever since then he’s had an all out war against me - every time he knows birds are landing on my shed he runs around to ring bells or slam bins very loudly so that they fly off again - it must keep him very fit in summer?😝 but he’s even gone to the point where he’s started messing with car tyres..... no proof but very odd how it’s the same wheel on whichever car gets parked in the Rd next to his garden,even if it’s my neighbours!! Nope,for an oap to cause that much annoyance to someone he knows is disabled(we used to get on very well before,which is why I was so reluctant to get police involved) is very sad indeed - I just hope I never get to be that bitter at his age. We just think it’s the fact that he’s lived here for 20yrs and has pretty much done what he likes in the close upto that point..... I remember when we were installing the cat fence and he collared my mum to ask if we had monkeys in the garden?! He’d heard my partner at the time speaking to the cats and calling them little monkeys,and obv got the wrong end of the stick,but just shows how he watched every thing I do around the house..... I’ve even caught him on cctv stop dead in his tracks to watch me feed the birds one morning - I was using my easy grabber to reach on top of the shed..... I literally have no privacy because as soon as I step outside all of a sudden he’s there staring straight at me until I’ve driven down the Rd or gone back indoors !!

You have my sympathy. Short of installing cctv and catching him interfering with the cars' tyres and threatening him with a criminal damage charge or harrassment, you're pretty much stuck until time solves the problem. I had a neighbour like that. Constant creepy surveillance and annoyance. I moved. Hugs

Unfortunately for him I bumped into him just minutes after I’d got back from the garage when my car had been dropped off for its mot,and even the garage fella had aid he didn’t believe a brand new tyre he’d fitted only two weeks previously had gone down by 12 PSI !! I just snapped when he called me crazy for interfering with the cars and told him that the police were onto him because it wasn’t just my cars that had been damaged - although he called me crazy,strangely enough it’s not happened since then,and that was about 4 months ago now 😜

I’m also in the process of sorting a move too - my landlord has decided he wants to sell the house because the new tax laws for renters don’t make it viable for him anymore - completely stressed until I’ve got my meeting with the council in mar,as I’m sort of stuck in limbo land until then(the joys of being unable to privately rent anymore because you can no longer work,and have pets!) but that’ll be a blessing in disguise I hope too,because they’ll have to try and place me somewhere with level access(not a flat) so fingers crossed all goes well🙏🏻

Thanks - must admit that I had a complete blind panic and meltdown for the first week after the letter arrived,but luckily I’ve always had a fantastic relationship with my landlord,and as a result he’s giving me six months notice and has stated that he will proved any glowing refs that I need,because he knows it could prove harder for me - I’ve been in his house for 3 1:/2yrs and in that time I’ve redecorated,completely redone the garden,and my pets have never been an issue either,so I’m lucky there,and then I’ve also got a fantastic support worker who is doing her best to tell me that it will all be ok and that they can’t leave me homeless,esp as I use a wheelchair for anything further than to the car and back as I get extremely fatigued,so here’s hoping. But thanks for your kind words

Strange to cut trees whilst nesting going on. We have starlings, we call them the 'mob' as there is so many. We do have quite a lot of other small birds also.

What was even stranger is that the trees didn’t belong to him,and were further from his garden than they were mine!! He’s an old fella who’s lived in the close for 20yrs,so thinks he can do what he likes... did make me chuckle when I came home the other day and found the council were trimming them back this time,(they overhang a little walkway) and they’d completely removed the shrubs he’d planted in the strip of land below also 😝 one of those people that’s got too much time on his hands and goes around moaning to every neighbour,but changes the neighbour he’s moaning about depending on who he’s talking to at the time 😂 like I said.,,,. Too much time on his hands and not enough going on in his own life,surely?!

Yep,we(myself and my other direct neighbours) just keep to ourselves - he never wanted our houses built in the first place,so he’s always had the hump about whoever’s lived here - even the council were astonished when he put an objection in about the building applucation because at the time it was one large house that had been turned into a crack den and place for ‘ladies’ of the night,but each to their own I suppose?!

I’ve just found some pics of the girls watching tv when they were kittens,but I’ll have to try and figure out how to get them on here for you 😊
