Having pain in my coccyx last 2 months extreme pain getting up from a chair.
Rheumy Consultant looked at it and also I have a lump to the right side of my lower spine just above my bottom . ( lump is getting ultra sound ASAP) but sent me immediately to xray on my coccyx and said to tell her when I'm up hospital in 2 weeks when I have my 4 weekly infusion if I'm still in pain, if so she will book an MRI too, to see what's going on.
What could it possibly be ? Anyone had the same ? It's been 3 months now the pain built up slowly and increased in severity of pain.
I would appreciate anyone's advice even if they haven't had it ! Thankyou x

Hi Mellisa. I too suffer a lot of pain in the coccyx region, mine comes and goes though but when it’s bad it’s agony, so I know what your going through. I have never had a lump with it though. The Rheumy said it was due to the RA and didn’t seem to be too bothered by it. I hope they get you sorted soon and you get some relief. Try not to worry too much, this disease has some horrible twists xxx
Thanks for highlighting this. I have exactly the same health issues as you, MCTD , LUPUS , SJOGRENS, FIBROMYALGIA & RA. My coccyx has been getting more painful over the past few months, if I sit for a while I dread getting up because of the pain. At least I know I’m not on my own. I saw my rheumatologist in October last, but didn’t mention it because I have so many issues going on with different parts of my body. Latest thing is I’m getting bone spurs all over, one split my left shoulder rotator cuff and had to have surgery to mend it. Same now happening to my right shoulder and knees. Perhaps it’s a bone spur on my coccyx, who knows, I’m just sick of it. Good luck with yours an£ hope you get some answers x
Idea to check your vitamin D blood levels. My coccyx pain and stiffness getting up out of chairs and bed and more was down to a vitamin D deficiency. All went almost overnight once on a far higher amount than my Doctor gave me. Though not saying you have the same cos we are all different.
