OK my scan results are in and I've no sign of inflammation in my hand joints. Last time I saw rheummy he said RA and probably fibromyalgia. It took over a year to get all the swelling down in my hands so does that now mean the RA is in remission and my pain just now is Fibro? Or should I be thinking wrong diagnosis?
Any thoughts? M x

No idea but would definitely push for answers. I’m sure your Rheumy will have some ideas.
Hey Marie - That was what happened to me - The inflammation in my joints went away and then all of my lab work cleared up and into "normal" ranges. I even convinced myself that maybe I DIDN'T have RA, Sjogrens, etc. etc. and stopped my minocycline for about two months, only to end up hobbled (hobble Caeryl, hobble like the wind!"), and with my joints screaming. So, you may well be in remission. I checked with my doc and she confirmed it. I would suggest checking with your doc and looking at your lab work - and CONGRATULATIONS!
Hi guys I have answers at last. Rheummy says RA has settled. ..long may that continue and I have a secondary diagnosis of Fibromyalgia to add to my secondary carpal tunnel.
That's good, I think? Are you still on drugs for the RA, i.e. Medically controlled remission, or are you staying stable and drug free? Whichever way I hope it lasts for you and the fibro doesn't cause too much pain.
Yes still continuing on Methotrexate only thing that brought all the swelling down for me. I hope it stays settled for a while! Fibro pain still problematic but at least I now know why. M x
