Blocked in
The neighbour that blocks you in, is it the car on the other side of the road? Do they move it to directly in front of your drive?
No it's that our car is to long to get round I front of it when revering into the drive we have to reverse as its a stone drive and drive in front ways kicks stone up
Oh, so it's in the way for you to reverse in. Would you have a wider turning angle if you approach from the other direction or is it the same both ways?
We always reverse in to our driveway & we have quite a long car, a Merc C Class estate. Looking at the tyre tracks in the snow our road is about the same width as yours. Often there's a car parked directly in front of our drive on the other side of the road, it just takes a little more manoeuvering, basically a 3 point turn. If we're approaching from the nearside instead of a wide right turn then reverse we need to angle our car forwards to the corner of the parked car, turn the wheel to the right, reverse, then the left, reverse, then then straighten up til you're at right angles to the parked car then straight reverse into the drive.
Why not just reverse in two or more moves ! or remove gate to get a bigger turning circle. Like as in a car park?
Bingo! We took our driveway gates away for that reason...got a bigger car and with the best will in the world people forget and do park opposite. M x
They always park opposite my drive. It a case of managing to reverse or go in forward.
