Hello it would be really good to hear some advice and talk to people who understand how it feels. I had recently been diagnosed with RA. I was on hydroxychlorquine but been recommended to be on Methotrexate. I had pain in my feet everyday with the mornings being the worse. but when I am wearing orthofeet's shoes, at that time I dont have pain in my feet.

diagnosed with RA.
Hi akshayv2, sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with this. I've had it 4 months and this site has been great, v supportive plus you don't have to explain what it is all the time. I'm on methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine too. Glad you re getting some relief with th ortho shoes and wish you well
Hi akshay
I am hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate. My whole foot hurts, both right one and left.
But sometimes they feel almost normal for a few days.
The only shoes that help are Merrell walking shoes and boots.
RA can be unpredictable. Wishing you well with controlling symptoms.
Hi
I'm on methotrexate n sulphazalazine I get pains in my feet n all over my body. Sorry to hear you recently diagnosed. Try to rest when you can n don't over do things on a good day.
Look after yourself as much as you can n manage your pain levels.
Take what they give you n keep an eye on your bloods .and all will be ok.
Wishing you well. X
Hello ,
Sorry to know that you have been diagnosed RA .I am a sufferer for the past 14 years. I was introduced to Methotexate from the start and now take this as well as hydroxychlorquine. First my left foot and now both of my feet are affected. When I have flare ups I try to take things easy .I apply cold and hot water bags during inflammation and also put a bandage to rest my bones during painful period . Wearing right type of shoes are important. When i have less pain I do self - massage watching the video. I started using this as I had to wait for a long time for physiotherapy.Exercising your joints gently but not vigorously keep me mobile.
Good luck !

Hi sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with RA, I have RA and was suffering with my feet too, have not been on hydroxychloroquine so have no experience of that to comment on but have been on Methotrexate for 41/2 years now and whilst it took a while to get used to and suppress my symptoms I am now a new woman, I do not have and pain in my feet or other joints, go to the gym, run around after the grandkids, take the dog for long walks and have lost 5 stones. Good luck with your journey and hope you find something which helps and gives you relief from that draining pain and constant ache xx
I have been on Methotrexate for 2yrs and have to say I do feel much better, not so stiff in the mornings also my hands are far more mobile and swelling has gone. Before I went on Methotrexate I had 21 swollen joints, saw my consultant last week and now have none. I started on tablets but was feeling very norsious, I am now on weekly injections and folic acid tablets, so much better. So hang in there it will be worth it in the end.
