I just returned from an urgent visit with my primary care doctor, I couldn't get through to the rheumatologist. I have been struggling with a lot of weakness and pain in lower back and legs, my arms are acting up today as well. After doctor had a failed attempt to reach the rheumatologist, she sent me home with some prednisone and a promised call back when rheumatologist is reached.
I have DDD in L1-5, but this pain is unexpected, wish I knew what is happening! Any advice will be graciously received!

I’m sorry to hear your in such pain as well as left in an anxious place. Unfortunately, I cannot offer any suggestions but I wanted to let you know that people here will be thinking of you and wishing you well.
Let’s hope you hear something back from rhuemy soon.
Hope you feel better soon. I just had a anterior cervical fusion in C4-5 and C5-6 and am noticing a big improvement in my morning and most the day pain. My mobility is greatly improved and my surgical pain is getting better everyday. Have you seen a spine specialist? I had to be off my RA meds for a couple of weeks before and after surgery but it was worth it. Being off the meds sure showed me how much they were helping. Good luck to you!!
Thank you for the well wishes, and I am thankful to hear you are feeling better! Sadly, the only doctor I don't have is a neurologist! I have one I like and trust in the wings, he treated my dad before he passed.
My dad would have been 92 this year, he was 86 when he passed. He had fallen and ended up with some compression of his spinal cord. He had a vertebral genetic defect that had never been found. He went from vibrant out in the garden weeding to unable to feed himself in 2 weeks. It took a couple months to get the right diagnosis and set up surgery, then he had a lateral mass screw procedure. He recovered pretty well, he was even walking with assistance, then he was gone! He had cirrhosis of the liver, and they pretty much killed him with potassium. He was on blood pressure meds for high blood pressure, but they were giving him potassium to combat low blood pressure! I wasn't his power of attorney so I couldn't fix it! The potassium, because of the cirrhosis, fried his kidneys. Renal failure was what got him! Sorry for the long, sad story, but I was compelled to tell you!
Are You Feeling any better ?? With the Predinisone ?? I know that I have Ok Days and Bad Days . Just started my Humira and Otezla back . Was very sick . Feel Better
I am still feeling weakness and pain in my back and legs. The prednisone has been gone for a couple days and I took my methotrexate yesterday. No word from the rheumatologist, I have left messages.
