Hi Lovely People

I am being offered Baricitinib (a new JAK inhibiter biologic) to replace the Abatacept I was on but had to give up due to the onset of vertigenous migraines.

I understand it has only been available in the UK for the last couple of months. Anybody taking it yet? Any feedback?

Thank you

Misty x

Hi Mistydawn,

I have been trialling it for 3.5 years and can say it works for me but I need dmards to top it up. Have you had RD for long? I know another person also on the trial who only takes this and is doing very well. , he had only just been diagnosed. I wish you well and hope you have great success with it.

Best wishes

Carol

Thank you Carol. Do you take a daily tablet? Any side effects?

I was diagnosed with RD in October 2014. I won’t be taking anything else with this new drug for my RD.

The other choices I have are Benepali or tocilizumab. I like that the Baricitinib has a half life of only 12 hours!

Best wishes

Misty

Hi Mistydawn, I have had no side effects from it and would definitely choose this over injectables so easy to take just one tablet daily. Good luck on it and I wish you well. Carol x

I am interested to see how you get on. Sounds positive. If I am lucky enough to start it I have been told they will stop 2 dmards and just leave me on mtx. I have not had a biologic before.

Fingers crossed. Good positive feedback too
