Hi everyone, just noticed some posts about Rheumatoid Factor. Mine was given to me as a ratio 1:1760 several years ago, I have no idea what it means, does anyone know? Would be grateful if someone could help

Using titres or ratios is just another way of reporting the results. As far as I'm aware it's less commonly used in the UK so all I know is that the 'normal' range is less than 1:80, so yours is a positive result. What's less clear is whether there is a direct relationship between the results and how active/aggressive your disease is. I had high anti-CCP on diagnosis which in theory means a more aggressive disease, but it doesn't seem to have developed that way (fingers crossed!).

So once you've been diagnosed it really isn't that important.

Many thanks, it's all just a bit confusing! Would be good if they stuck to one way of recording results but as you say once diagnosed it doesn't really make a difference.
